Uche Fuels Dominant Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS ought to be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second game in match.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were no match even for a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

Midfielder Adam Wharton went close soon after, driving a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee waved away the protests.
Ex-Arsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's effort had struck the post.
Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
