One extended cruise through Australia has been cancelled days after the fatal incident of an elderly female passenger who was stranded by the cruise liner on a isolated island.

Suzanne Rees had been walking on the tropical location with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the party for a rest. The vessel sailed away leaving her and came back several hours later after the personnel became aware the woman was unaccounted for.

A large-scale rescue mission discovered her body the subsequent day.

Officials are examining the event, together with police and the official investigator.

The CEO of the shipping company announced that guests and staff on the vessel were told that the rest of the journey had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and previous technical problems".
