I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to promote next month's bout.

Former two time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
