Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former trainer Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since March of 2023.
Victory also means he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
His retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued four early opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
