In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "An unusual confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Newest Free Story Content
This update also adds the game's newest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
